[Tutorial] How To Load A Custom Background

Things You Need To Download:

1.The Pod Wizard Link: Get Pod Wizard
2. A Background which you want to put on your IPod

Here is a step by step tutorial on how to load a theme. This is the only way to do this I assure you. It's pretty easy. There are 3 different ways to get a theme on your iPod. You can download an iPW file, a folder with theme pics or a firmware with a theme already on it. Before you get started download the newest iPW here. You'll also most likely need WinRar, you can download it by clicking WinRar.


1) Loading an iPW file

A) Open iPW and click "iPod" in the drop-down box and then click "Load iPod firmware".
B) Click the "Themes" tab.
C) Click "Load theme" and then go to wherever you have your iPW and load it.
D) Click "Write" and then eject in iTunes and disconnect.


2) Load a folder with theme pics aka modding directly

A) Open iPW and click "iPod" in the drop-down box and then click "Load iPod firmware".
B) Make sure you unzip the file you downloaded with WinRar if it is .rar or .zip.(Which it will most likely be)
C) Click the "Firmware Editor" tab
D) Under the "Pictures" tab click "Load All" and find the unzipped folder and load it.
E) If iPW freezes when you try loading it click the "Preferences" tab and check/uncheck "Old savings system"
F) Click "Write" and then eject in iTunes and disconnect.


3) Loading a firmware

A)Open iPW and click "Firmware File" in the drop-down box and then click "Open firmware".
B) Find the firmware file and load it.
C) You can use instructions 1 and 2 to make changes to this firmware file.
D) After you have or have not made changes to the firmware file click "Write to iPod" and then eject in iTunes and disconnect.

Matt's Black and Blue Theme:

The Graphics are copyright MFB 2008. Some of the graphics I made or edited from others' or apple's originals. I ended up with a very cool black and bue theme and then i spent a half hour porting all over to the new updater. And now Ive spent another half hour porting the graphics over the NEW updater! (and once again, spent some time porting them over another new updater.

(This Theme Is for 5th Generation IPod Videos, This Will
theme will NOTwork with any other type of ipod, because of the size of images. You could put it on a different Ipod, but it will look distorted and your ipod will not respond nor will it function properly.

Also, I do not plan on converting this theme for 1.2.1 or any future firmware version until one actually adds something to the 5G. Right now, I find 1.2.1 useless for the 5G.

added blue glow to do not/ok to disconnect pics, minor graphic fixes on large battery images, gave apple logo a little black and blue makeover, made lock icon blue so its now visible on the top bar, added blue glow to card back pic
